Common Tasks

Quick reference for the tasks you perform most often. Each entry gives you the short version. Follow the links for full details.

This page is a quick-lookup resource for the actions practice managers handle regularly in DPC Pro. Each task includes a brief how-to and a link to the detailed documentation.


  1. Navigate to PatientsAdd Patient.
  2. Enter demographics, select the billing account, and choose a practice.
  3. Select Create Patient.

  1. Navigate to the account holder’s profile.
  2. Assign a membership plan and set the start date.

  2. Select the existing account holder as the billing account.
  3. Enter the dependent’s information and select the relationship type.
  4. Select Create Patient.

Transfer a Patient to a New Account Holder

  1. Navigate to the patient’s record.
  2. Follow the transfer process to reassign billing responsibility.

  1. Navigate to ScheduleCreate.
  2. Search for the patient, select a visit type and provider, and choose a time.
  3. Select Save.

  1. Navigate to ScheduleBlock Time.
  2. Select the provider, date, start time, and end time.
  3. Select Save.

  1. Open the visit from the schedule.
  2. Select Reschedule or Cancel and follow the prompts.

  1. Navigate to BillingFailed Payments.
  2. Review entries and select Retry, Send Reminder, or Waive as appropriate.

  2. Select Record Payment.
  3. Enter the amount, payment method, and reference information.

  2. Create the add-on charge with the amount and description.

  2. Select Add Credit and enter the amount, type, and description.

  1. Navigate to StaffInvite Staff Member.
  2. Enter their email, name, role, and practice.
  3. Select Send Invitation.

Change a Team Member’s Role or Permissions

  1. Navigate to Staff and select the team member.
  2. Select Edit next to their practice assignment.
  3. Update the role or toggle individual permissions.
  4. Select Save.

  1. Navigate to Staff and select the team member.
  2. Select Edit on their practice assignment.
  3. Set an End Date and toggle Active off.
  4. Select Save.

  1. Navigate to MessagesCompose.
  2. Set the type to Patient, select the patient, enter a subject and body.
  3. Select Send.

  1. Navigate to MessagesBroadcast.
  2. Configure the recipients, subject, and content.
  3. Select Send.

  1. Open the conversation from the inbox.
  2. Select Assign and choose the staff member.
  3. Select Save.

  1. Navigate to SettingsPractice Profile or SettingsLocations.
  2. Update the relevant fields.
  3. Select Save.

  1. Navigate to ComplianceAudit Log.
  2. Use filters (date range, action type, user, patient) to narrow results.

  1. Navigate to SettingsAI Assistant.
  2. Enable or disable features, adjust the daily message limit, or toggle patient context.
  3. Select Save.
