Common Questions

Answers to the questions physicians, practice managers, and staff ask most often about DPC Pro.

DPC Pro is a practice management platform built specifically for Direct Primary Care (DPC) physicians. It combines membership billing, patient records, scheduling, secure messaging, and an AI practice assistant into a single platform. DPC Pro replaces the patchwork of tools most DPC practices cobble together, with everything designed around the membership-based model that defines Direct Primary Care.

Yes. DPC Pro is built with HIPAA compliance as a foundational requirement. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit, access is controlled through role-based permissions, every action is recorded in an audit log, and AI-generated content goes through human review before reaching patients. DPC Pro provides the technical and administrative safeguards your practice needs; your practice is responsible for configuring and using those controls in accordance with your own compliance policies.

DPC Pro does not include a traditional patient portal. Instead, patients interact with your practice through secure messaging, self-scheduling, and email or SMS notifications. This approach reduces friction for both patients and staff — patients get direct access to their care team without another login to manage.

Yes. DPC Pro supports individual memberships, family memberships, and employer group plans. Family memberships link multiple patients to a single account holder who manages billing. Each family member has their own patient record, visit history, and communication preferences while sharing one payment method and billing cycle.

DPC Pro includes lightweight clinical documentation tools (visit notes, problem lists, medication records, patient timeline) designed for the focused workflow of DPC practices. It is not a full EHR and does not currently integrate with external EHR systems. Many DPC practices find that DPC Pro’s built-in clinical records are all they need, especially when combined with the messaging and scheduling tools.

Yes. DPC Pro includes patient self-scheduling that lets patients book visits based on your availability rules. You define which visit types are available for self-scheduling, set provider availability windows, and control how far in advance patients can book. Patients receive a link or can access scheduling through their notifications.

Yes. DPC Pro supports multiple practice locations within a single account. Each location can have its own providers, schedules, and settings while sharing a unified patient roster and billing system. Reports can be filtered by location.

DPC Pro’s AI practice assistant drafts message replies, generates daily practice summaries, and helps recover failed payments. Every AI action is transparent — you can see what it did, why it did it, and approve or override any suggestion before it reaches a patient. The AI never sends anything on its own. A full audit trail records every AI-generated action.

Can I import patients from another system?

Section titled “Can I import patients from another system?”

Yes. DPC Pro supports importing patient records from CSV files during onboarding. You can map your existing data fields to DPC Pro’s patient record format and review the import before it goes live.
